By thinking about the contribution of water to our lives in many different ways, by caring and consciously consuming it, we can value water correctly and protect it effectively for everyone.

Changes observed in the water cycle due to increasing population, global warming, leaving waste water to nature without adequate treatment and similar reasons make access to clean water problematic for millions of people or cause them to have no access at all. It is predicted that a larger population will be affected by the problem of access to clean and reliable water resources in the coming years.

While the World Health Organization states that approximately 22 liters of water per day can meet the basic use and cleaning needs of people, 2.5 billion people in the world do not have access to a clean water source. Countries with an annual usable water amount of more than 5,000 cubic meters per person per year can be considered water rich. Countries with an annual per capita water consumption of less than 1000 cubic meters are considered water poor.

Well, do you know the situation of our country, which we know is surrounded by sea on 3 sides and its lands are full of natural water resources? In the last 20 years, the amount of water per capita in Turkey has decreased from 4,000 cubic meters to 1,346 cubic meters. Although Turkey is not yet a water-poor country in terms of usable water per capita, it is a country experiencing water stress. And if effective steps are not taken, it will be a water-poor country according to population projections in 2030. Among the main reasons for this dramatic decline are global climate change, as well as the decrease in green areas and increase in reinforced concrete, unconscious use and pollution of water resources, rapid production/consumption and wastage of water in our daily lives
