OUR FORESTS

Have you ever wondered how the world breathes? It is not wrong to answer this question as "Thanks to the forests". Forests are one of the most important sources of oxygen in the world.

The forest is a natural land ecosystem consisting of various trees of a certain height and size, shrubs, herbaceous plants, fungi, microorganisms and animals.

Lush forests, which have many benefits for the earth, house a large number of trees. Considering the number of leaves in each tree, it can be understood why trees are a very large source of oxygen.

On earth, 31% of the land is covered with forests. 47% of the forests are tropical belt rainforests, 9% are temperate belt tropical rainforests, 11% are temperate belt broad-leaved forests and 33% are coniferous forests, also known as taiga. Forests that are a source of oxygen for our world also have a regulatory effect on the climate. Not only do they clean the air of the area where they are located, but they also ensure that it receives abundant precipitation. In addition, the roots of trees in forests keep the soil, preventing erosion and flooding.

33% of the forest areas of our country are leafy forests consisting of tree species such as oak, beech, alder, chestnut, hornbeam, 48% are coniferous forests consisting of tree species such as redwood, larch, yellowwood, skyscraper, spruce, cedir, and 19% are mixed forests with needles and leaves. The most found tree species in our forests is oak, which spans approximately 5.9 million hectares. According to the size of the area where it spreads after the oak tree, redwood, larch, beech, yellowwood, juniper, skyscraper, cedar, spruce, pistachio, alder, chestnut, hornbeam, poplar, linden, ash and eucalyptus trees come, respectively.

OUR FORESTS

Have you ever wondered how the world breathes? It would not be wrong to answer this question as “thanks to the forests”. Forests are one of the world’s most important sources of oxygen. A forest is a natural land ecosystem consisting of various trees, shrubs, herbaceous plants, fungi, microorganisms and animals of certain heights and sizes. The lush forests, which have many benefits for the earth, contain many trees. Considering the number of leaves on each tree, it can be understood why trees are such a great source of oxygen. Forests are very important for the continuity of life on earth. Forests have important effects on maintaining the balance of gases in the atmosphere. Trees release oxygen into the atmosphere while converting water and carbon dioxide into food (for example, glucose) as a result of photosynthesis with the help of sunlight. An adult pine tree can convert the carbon dioxide that 40 people give to the air in an hour into oxygen in an hour.

Our forests

Forests provide us with many resources, including food, paper, building materials, chocolate, medicine, and the air we breathe. It filters fresh water, protects the soil, and regulates the water and nutrient cycle.

Forests are the lungs of our planet, pulling and storing carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases that cause climate change from the atmosphere. Trees with precipitation in the form of snow and rain; It prevents floods and overflows by holding leaves, branches, trunk and roots. Trees prevent erosion, provide cooling, clean the air, and protect people from ultraviolet rays. It provides a vital infrastructure for some of the world's densest, most diverse forms of life.

Forests cover one-third of all land on earth. In addition to countless species, forests support the livelihoods of nearly 1.6 billion people. As it is such an important natural asset, the regular protection of forested lands is also the responsibility of people.

Our forests

Forests have touched our lives every day since early humans used them for shelter, food, water and fuel. Today, 300 million people still live in forests, and over a million people depend on forests for their livelihood. More than half of all terrestrial species live in forests, which cover one-third of our planet's land area.

There are many types of forests on our planet, and they all have a delicate balance. Forests, which are not just a collection of trees, are an ecosystem formed by living and non-living things such as trees, other plants, animals, fungi, soil, water and climate.

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?

forest among the people; it is perceived only as a group of trees or an entity that meets the need for fuel. However, the forest; It expresses a natural integrity formed by living and non-living nature factors such as trees, other plants, animals, soil, water, climate.

The forests, which continue to exist in approximately 30 percent of Turkey's surface area, host a rich biological diversity in our country. Natural old forests with high conservation value, which have been destroyed in many parts of the world, still continue to create unique living spaces in our country.

THE IMPORTANCE OF OUR FORESTS

Forests, which are the source of oxygen for our world, also have a regulatory effect on the climate. They not only clean the air of the region where they are located, but also provide plenty of precipitation. In addition, the roots of the trees in the forests hold the soil and prevent erosion and flooding.
