WHAT IS WORLD WATER DAY?
Water is indispensable as the most important element of life. World Water Day is celebrated on March 22 every year to highlight the importance of water that is decreasing day by day. World Water Day is a special day declared by the United Nations General Assembly in 1993 in order to raise awareness about the increasing water crisis every year. Water, which has a great place in life, is getting smaller every year. World Water Day is of great importance to raise awareness of this situation.
WHY CELEBRATE WORLD WATER DAY?
The "World Water Day", which was first proposed in 1993 at the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development, aims to draw attention to the growing clean water problem of both UN members and other countries in the world, and to encourage concrete steps to be taken in protecting and increasing potable water resources. It was created in the sense of dedicating a day to this name. World Water Day, which meets every three years and increased participation in the World Water Council held in Istanbul in 2009, emphasizes that the increasing water crisis is a phenomenon that threatens the sustainability of social and economic development.
